Li Zicheng Palace


Li Zicheng Palace is located on Panlong Mountain in the north of Mizhi County of Yulin City. It is now included in the campus of Mizhi No.1 Middle School. In 1644 , the 16th year of Emperor Chongzhen of the Ming Dynasty, Li Zicheng built a palace and a ancestral tomb in Xi'an after he built the university in Xi'an. The name of the mountain came from this. The palace is ingeniously conceived and has a unique shape. It is based on the risk of the mountain, with two levels of 90 steps.
What to see?
The main buildings include Le Lou, Meihua Pavilion, Zhisheng Building, Yuhuang Pavilion, Qingxiang Hall and Beiqing Palace. It is a unique palace garden tourist area in northern Shaanxi. There is also a exhibition of Mizhi women's revolutionary history in the palace.

Panlong Mountain was originally named Ma'anshan. During the Jiajing Period of Ming Dynasty, it was built in the mountains. In the 16th year of Chongzhen (1643), after Li Wangcheng established the Dashun regime in Xi'an, he sent his wife Li to return to the tomb. Li passed the 30,000 troops stationed at the foot of the mountain and expanded the temple of Zhenwuzu on the mountain into a palace. In November of the same year, Li Zicheng personally led the army back to Mizhi to attend the ceremony. He was very happy when he saw the majestic architecture of the palace. He gave the mountain the name of Panlong Mountain, the main hall of the palace was the Qixiang Temple, and the back hall was Zhaoqing Palace. After the failure of Li Zicheng's uprising, the local people to protect this group of buildings, plastic statues of the true martial arts, and the palace became a temple.

In recent years, the local government has repaired the palace, restored its original size and landscape, and established Li Zicheng Memorial Hall to introduce its life story. Li Zicheng's FRP cast image was placed in the main hall. At present, the Mizhi County Museum is also located in the palace, which displays the Eastern Han Dynasty portrait stone and other historical relics unearthed from Mizhi. The front floor of the climax of the Ascendant Palace overlooks the mountains and the mountains and rivers have a panoramic view.
