Beijing, Jing for short, is a metropolis in northern China and the capital of China. Lying 102km (70miles) west of Bo Hai Sea, it borders Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and for a small section in the east and Tianjin to the southeast. This Beijingcity is a major transportation hub, with dozens of railways, roads and motorways passing through the city. It is also the destination of many international flights arriving in China. This city is regarded as the political, educational, and cultural center of China.

History of Beijing

Beijing is located in northern China, abutting Hebei Province to the north, west, south, and to the east in a small part, and Tianjin Municipality to the southeast. As a port city of Beijing, Tianjin is about 200km to the southeast of Beijing. 
Beijing is surrouded on its three sides (north, northwest and west) by mountains with its southeast opening to the south and east extending to Bohai Sea. The Great Wall of China runs across the northern part of Beijing.
