Zhangjiajie Danxia National Geopark, located in Zhangye City of Gansu Province, is majestic and imposing, together with the unusual shapes and the gorgeous colors, making people are stunned by the creation of the nature. Zhangye Danxia Landform is concentrated in Linze and Sunan County, covering an area of over 300 square kilometers. It is one of the largest and best China Danxia landform with richest landscape modeling. The beauty of Zhangye Danxi is not just because it is odd, dangerous but also its colors. In a circumference of more than 10 square kilometers of range, there are bright colors as red, yellow, orange, green, white, graphite, gray, gray can be seen everywhere, decorating the numerous trenches and hills colorfully. Zhangye Danxia landform’s bedding staggered lines, colorful tunes and dazzling splendor drawing form a colorful fairy tale world.

No.2: Dunhuang Yadan National Geological Park
Yadan GeoparkYadan National Geological Park,well known as the local name of devils town, is situated on a dried up riverbed, stretches 25km in length and 1-2km in breadth.It is 185km away from Dunhuang city, 85km west of Yumenguan pass. Composed of group of wind-eroded barren grotesque hillocks,Yadan National Geological Park is imposing and broad in scale whether individual or the whole. It is rare and seldom to see elsewhere in the world.

It takes about an hour to ride to the well-known pass of Yumenguan passing through a vast land of the Gobi desert, then you continue to ride for 85km westwards along the ancient silk road on Sule riverbed. During your journey they can sight ruins of watch towers doted along the Great Wang of the Han Dynasty and see marshland and grassy marshland joining together. 

No.3: Liujiaxia Gorge

Liujia Gorge2.jpgSituated in the Yongjing county of Gansu province, Liujia Gorge is the large water-power engineering project of the first five-year plan. Completed in the year of 1974, it is the seventh step hydro-electric station, with multifunction such as generating electricity, controlling flood, breeding aquatics, irrigating, shipping, and travelling, and became the largest pivotal project of water conservancy an electric power, thus enjoying the reputation as the pearl on the Yellow River. Covering a water area of 130 plus square kilometers, Liujia Gorge stretches from southwest to northwest. The dam is 147 metres high, 840 metres long, on whose right side there is a spillway 700 metres long and 80 metres wide.

Located in the gorge, the reservoir is known as the pearl of loess plateau with spectacular scenery. Various ships are available to drive visitors to the southwest end where Bingling Grottoes is in sight. Generally, it takes you about two to three hours....more

No.3: Yellow River Stone Forest Park

Liujia Gorge1.jpgYellow River Stone Forest is a geographical park which has been established in southern Jingtai County to preserve the Yellow River Stone Forest four billion years ago. Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Spot is located in Longwan Village in Jingtai District of Baiyin City. It was formed by the rising of the Earth's crust. 

Just as beautiful as the famous Stone Forest of Yunnan, Yellow River Stone Forest Scenic Spot is composed of many sand stalagmites and stone pillars in various sizes and shapes.  Some are about 80-200 meters tall. Unique pattern on the cliff sides formed by water and wind erosion made the stone forest more attracting. The fabulous scenes reflect the prodigious craftsmanship of nature's creation. People have imaginatively given many peaks vivid names, such as "Lovers under the Moon", "The Goddess Looks at the Moon", "Qu Yuan Asks Heaven" and "A Gleam of Sky".

No.4: Hexi Corridor

Hexi Corridor, also known as Gansu Corridor, refers to the historical route in Gansu province of Northwest China. As part of the Northern Silk Road running northwest from the bank of the Yellow River, it was the most important route from North LANZHOUChina to the Tarim Basin and Central Asia for traders and the military. 

Hexi Corridor is a string of oases along the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. To the south is the high and desolate Tibetan Plateau and to the north, the Gobi Desert and the grasslands of Outer Mongolia. At the west end the route splits in three, going either north of the Tian Shan or south on either side of the Tarim Basin. At the east end are mountains around Lanzhou before one reaches the Wei River valley and China proper.

The Hexi Corridor is a long, narrow passage stretching for some 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) from the steep Wushaolin hillside near the modern city ofLanzhou to the Jade Gate at the border of Gansu and Xinjiang. There are many fertile oases along the path, watered by rivers flowing from theQilian Mountains, such as the Shiyang, Jinchuan, Ejin (Heihe), and Shule Rivers.

No.5: Sangke Grlassland
Kesang2.jpgSangke Grassland, about 15 km to the southwest of Xiahe County inGansu Province, enjoys a good reputation in the northwest Tibetan region for its excellent pasture and significant Buddhist ceremonies.

Sangke Grassland is a vast highland meadow surrounded by mountains. In summer, the grassland forms a natural green carpet extending to the far horizon. Myriads of wild flowers blossom together, presenting a lovely picture. 

Daxia River winds its way through the prairie, resembling an undulating silk ribbon on the carpet. Clear water reflects the blue sky and floating clouds. Countless sheep and yaks live near the river. Yaks may moo from time to time and their melodious pastoral songs spread far away. The green carpet is scattered with tents and smoke is curling up over the dwellings. Words fail to describe this beauty and you have to experience this poetic splendor yourself.

No.6: Wanxiang Cave

Wanxiang Cave2.jpgWanxiang Cave is located in the mountainside of Lugushan Mountain of Yangpang Village, Hanwang County, on the south bank of Bailongjiang River, Wudu District, Longnan City. It is 12 kilometers from Wudu. This cave is 250 million years old, and its grand scale and high artistic value can compare favorably with the world famous Reed Flute Cave in Guilin and Seven Star Cave in Zhaoqing. This cave not only has the magnificent northern style, but also has the delicate southern beauty. It is one of the four famous caves in China. Wanxiang Cave enjoys a high reputation of “The No.1 cave in China", meanwhile it is also called “underground cultural corridor" and “underground art palace".

Guanegou1.jpgGuanegou Valley Scenic Area is located in the outskirts of Tanchang County, 340 kilometers from the provincial capital city Lanzhou, Gansu province. It take up the converging area of the east of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the branches of two mountain ranges, Mount Qinling and Mingshan. The scenic area adjoins the famous historical and cultural township Hadapu.The whole park includes six main scenic spots: Daheba Gorge, Maquan Gorge, Gang Gorge, Baxia Gorge and Damiao Beach. The park combines natural views with a rich culture into an organic whole, such as forest, prairie, waters, geomorphologic and astronomical landscape. The landscape is outstanding. The rich flora and fauna variety creates an elegant ecological environment.

Kongtong MtKongtong Mountain is located some 12 km from the west of Pingliang City in Gansu Province. Kongtong Mountain Scenic Area covers around 84 square kilometers. Its main peak stands at 2123.3m high. The mountain, which is called as the "First Mountain of Taoism", boasts some amazing natural scenery as well as deep Taoist culture. The unique peak, odd caves, strange stones, floating clouds as well as green grasses and trees will make you feel like you're entering a fairy tale land. Aside from these factors, the area also features a well-known martial arts school.
