Winter in Zhangjiajie is cold. The average temperature is 4 °C (40 °F), and sometimes it gets very windy. We suggest that you bring warm and windproof clothes if you travel to Zhangjiajie in winter.It snows sometimes but not whole winter. The best time to see snow scenery in the mountains is before and after the Spring Festival (from mid January to late February). 1.See the snowy and mastical scenery of Zhangjiajie National Forest ParkZhangjiajie Winter

In December, the mists and fog drift among the tall spires of Wulingyuan Scenic Area creating an Avatar-like world that you can watch from the heights above. The cable car and Bailong elevator will help you get to Yuanjiajie and Tianzi Mountain so that you can see the beautiful scenery. You'll see the quartzite rock spires thrusting up from the fog below. One of the amazing rocky pillars is 1,080 meters  tall. These rock formations are fairly unique in the world, and the area was named a UNESCO Geopark to highlight the unusual geology. The park was also honored with World Heritage listing in 1992.

Tianmen Mt 2. Visit Tianmen Mountain

Tianmen Mountain is a must-see place in Zhangjiajie.Most people feel the mountain is the biggest attraction of the whole park. It is called Tianmenshan (Heaven Gate Mountain) because there is a natural tunnel in the middle of the mountain that looks like a big doorway in the sky. The tunnel is 131 meters high, 57 meters wide, and 60 meters long.In winter, the secenery of Tianmen Mountain is more beutiful if it snows. Here, a coating of white snow adds another layer of beauty to the already beautiful scenery. You can go up to the top of the mountain by a spectacular long cable ride. The hike to the hole takes about 20 minutes, and a hike all the way to the top is a two or three hour exertion. At the top of the mountain, there is a clear glass sidewalk that is suspended a kilometer above the valley below. It is 600 meters long and hugs the side of the peak. It is a terrifying walk for many people when they look down past their feet to the ground. A hike would be something you'll remember for a long time.

Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge is “ the world’s highest and longest” glass-bottom bridge which is tucked between two mountain peaks in China’s Hunan province.Stretching 430 meters long and 6 meters wide, hovering over a 300-meter-deep valley between two cliffs in the canyon area, the much-awaited “world’s highest and longest” glass-bottomed bridge has already set world records for its architecture and construction.The glass-bottomed bridge welcomes only 8,000 tourists to view each day.
