Lushan Yunwu tea


Lushan Yunwu Tea , also known as Lushan Mountain Cloud-Mist Tea, is regarded as one of top ten famous Chinese teas. As a superior sort of Chinese green tea, it is produced in the famous Lushan Mountain of Eastern China’s Jiangxi Province. First grown in Han Dynasty (202BC – 220AD), Lushan Yunwu Tea was listed as a tribute tea for the emperors and royal family since Song Dynasty (960 - 1279) due to its four outstanding characteristics: fragrant aroma, pretty color, bright, clear liquor, and mellow taste.  

Where there's cloud and mist, there's bound to be good tea. Because of natural wonder of tremendous clouds over Lushan Mountain, it has  created Lushan Yunwu Tea. 
 
Lying in a basin surrounded by mountains, and with Boyang Lake to the south, Yangtze River to the north, Lushan Mountain is hidden from in the clouds and mist in half a year (around 195 days), making it one of the most beautiful and mysterious mountains in China. The blindingly foggy conditions also create a natural shade for the tea growing. Furthermore, Lushan Mountain features high altitude (around 800 meters above sea level), great seasonal temperature difference, strong irradiation of ultraviolet, and murmuring spring, all offering advantageous growing conditions for tea trees, thus contributing to the top quality of Lushan Yunwu Tea.

Features of Lushan Yunweu Tea
Lu Shan Yun Wu tea, a wild tea growing in the lush forest, is harvested by the local mountaineers. The rich hydration of Lushan Mountain results in sweet, tender buds and leaves that are filled with sweetness and abundant plant nutrient. The tea leaf features delicate jade green color and luster, unveiled silver pekoe, and lingering fragrance, and contains a high concentration of chlorophyll and nutrients. It has higher content of alkaloid and Vitamin C than that of common green teas. 
 
The busiest time of Lushan Yunwu tea picking is the Qingming Festival (April 4-5) . The most precious Lushan Yunwu Tea is "Mingqian Tea" which is made of fresh shoots picked before the Qing ming Festival when spring just returns and the shoots are extremely young and tender. The picked raw tea must be processed on the same day with multiple working procedures. One kilogram finished tea requires over 0.1 million tender shoots.  

Lushan Yunwu Tea has similar health benefits to the other Chinese green teas:

How to brew?

1. The ratio of tea to water is 1:50 or 150 milliliters of water, using about 3 grams of dry tea.
2. You can't use 100 degree boiling water to brew, generally 85 degree is suitable.
3.  The number of brewing should not exceed three times.
4. First pour 85 degree boiling water into the cup, then take the tea and put it in. If you use a glass, you will see some tea leaves sinking straight, showing a bud and a leaf. At this time, if you smell the tea soup while you smell it, you will be refreshed.
5. Generally speaking, the concentration of Lushan Yunwu tea is high, and it should be brewed with a belly-bellied pot to avoid excessive tea soup. Pottery pots and purple clay pots are especially suitable.
