Longji Pepper


Longji Peppers are grown in Yunwu Mountain above 800 meters above sea level. The peppers are horn-shaped, with bright colors, few thick seeds, strong spicy flavor, and unique and attractive flavors. In addition to being rich in capsaicin and volatile aromatic oils, It is a kind of unique condiment for vitamins needed by the human body, appetizing and refreshing after eating, dispels cold and dehumidify, and promotes appetite.

The Longji Terraced Field Scenic Area belongs to the central subtropical monsoon climate area, with abundant rainfall and pleasant climate. The average annual temperature is 18.1 ℃.  It is suitable for planting peppers.

Longji peppers are ripe fresh peppers with short horn shape, pepper length 5.5-9.5 cm, shoulder diameter 1.2-2.0 cm, single fruit weight 5.0-8.6 g, meat thickness 0.11-0.16 cm, ventricle 2-3, many seeds, The peel is bright and red, the fruit is tough, the meat is crunchy and spicy, and it is resistant to storage and transportation. The dried pepper is 5.0-8.5 cm long and the weight of a single fruit is 1.2-1.7 grams. The peel is dark red and shriveled. The fruit is compact, spicy and fragrant. Mainly dried peppers.

On April 15, 2013, the former Ministry of Agriculture of the People's Republic of China officially approved the implementation of registration and protection of agricultural geographical indications for "Longji Pepper".
