Qinglong Ancient Town

Qinglong Ancient Town, formerly known as Jinghaozui Village, is located in Houcun Township, Yangqu County, about 15 kilometers from Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province. The newly-renovated town presents its old appearance again, attracting a slew of tourists

During the Emperor Jiaqing Period of Qing Dynasty, the Wang clan in the village donated millions of silver for the Qing Dynasty. The dyansty gave a banner embroidered with the  “青龙 "(Qing Long, meaning  of the Green Dragon), which motioned to  a family of the Man and Han.Since then, the village has been renamed Qinglong Ancient Town.

The ancient buildings in Qinglong Ancient Town are typical of the Ming and Qing styles. The various carvings on the buildings are very exquisite, which reflects the exquisite craftsmanship of the craftsmen at that time. Especially the Wudao Pavilion on the Five-mile Street is rare to see in China. It imitates the construction method of the Kunming Lake in the Summer Palace. It builds the Wenchang Temple in the east, the Dragon King Temple in the west, the Fengtouzhai in the north, forming the overall layout of the Dragon and Phoenix.
