Taihang Dragon Cave


Taihang Dragon Cave is located in Panlong Town, Wuxiang County, Changzhi City of Shanxi Province. A legend tells that it was originally a boundless sea here. The karst cave was the palace of the Dragon King of East Sea, where it was bustling, then Mount Taihang rose in the sea, and the Dragon Cave emerged from the water. The Dragon King had to choose another palace. It was said that someone had seen a color great dragon going out and coming in the cave. It was the Dragon King of East Sea who missed the past palace. Since then, people called this cave as Taihang Dragon Cave. 
 
The relatively wet climate was formed due to dry and cold climate in the karst cave. The entrance to the cave is narrow, so it is difficult to seep into the cave for the rainfall . There are well-arranged and glassy karst stones in the cave. All sorts of karst landscapes of peculiar modelling are comparable with the karst caves in the southern part of China
 
This scenic area has the largest karst cave in the North China. Entering the cave, you can see the rare moon-milk with the largest area in China, "Princess Falls Viewing", "Thick Growth of Mushroom and Collection of Towers", "Golden Lion Protecting Cave", "Stalagmite Candle", "Adarce Flowers in Clusters" and other scenes.
