Chengyang Dong Village


Chengyang Dong Village consists of eight natural villages in Chengyang, surrounded by green hills and beautiful scenery.The scenci area of Chengyang eight villages is located 4–5 hours from Guilin, in the Sanjiang Dong Autonomous County of Liuzhou City,Guangxi province of China.


What to see?
Chengyang Eight Dong Villages refers to the eight Dong Ethnic Villages which are Ma'an (An), Pingzhai, Yanzhai, Dongzhai, Dazhai, Pingtanzhai, Pingpuzhai and Jichangzhai. The first five villages are connected, the distance is very close, and the Pingtan village is not far away, you can walk and enjoy. Pingtan Village and Jichang Village are far away and there are fewer tourists.

Travel to Chengyang Eight-Dong Village,visitors can visit the traditional villages to enjoy the beautiful scenery, visit the famous historical sites such as the Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge, and watch the folk performances with the Dong style. The activities are rich and it is the perfect place for sightseeing photography and enjoying the customs of the Dong people.

Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge: It is known for its "Folk Custom Centre" and the Chengyang Bridge , a covered bridge called a "wind and rain bridge" locally since it protected its users from the weather. The bridge is protected as a valued cultural relic of the Dong people, and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List on February 12, 1996, in the Cultural category.

Dong Culture Show: Chengyang Eight Dong Villages which is one of the best places to experience original and unique Dong culture. A night show named Zuomei in Dong Bird Nest in Sanjiang County center shows the unique marriage culture of Dong people. Besides, travelers can try some unique sour meat such as pork and fish in Sanjiang.Every day at 10:30am and 3:30pm there is a Dong Culture Show. There are a few guest house in the village, the Yang's guest house being the most popular.
