Bamboo Pole Dance


Bamboo Dance, or Bamboo Pole Dance,  is popular in Miao, Dong, Yao,Wa,Jing, Zhuang, Li, and other ethnic minority communities in southern China. It is one of the traditional Chinese folk dances commonly seen by tourists traveling to Hunan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Yunnan, Hainan and other places.

As early as the Song Dynasty, when the great writer Su Shi left Hainan at the end of his exile, he was given bamboo dancing as a farewell by  Li minority people . It can be seen that the bamboo dancing of the Li people not only have a long history, but also have their unique charm.
