Tage, Dancing to The Beat


Tage , meaning " the singing and dancing at once", is originally a form of dance among people in ancient China. The form of dance is characterized by a collective nature. Participants form a circle or line, hold hands or shoulders with each other, the upper body movements are not much, mainly due to the change in the dance steps under the feet, dancing while singing.

This ancient form of dance originated from the folk which was risen in the Han Dynasty more than 2,000 years ago.  And  It became popular in the Tang Dynasty. 
Tage,or Dancing To The Beat, also known as " Beat time to a song with the feet" or "Dancing accompanied by singing",  is one of the most famous Chinese classical dances.  
 
The Dance of Tage aims to depict to the audience a picture of an ancient couple who walked hand in hand to enjoy the spring scenery, and also show the modern colorful life by a long-lost image of beautiful girl.

The Dance of Tage,  directed and edited by Sun Yin, has the morphological characteristics of Chinese female dance in the Han Dynasty. And it is regarded as one of the most famous Chinese classical dances.
