Jingzhong Mountain

Jingzhong Mountain, located in Qianxi County, has always had the reputation of a famous cave in eastern Beijing. The feature of the mountain can be summarized with three sentences: the beautiful natural scene is the skillful work of God; the profound religious culture enjoys a long history; the splendid ancient constructions are ingenious.

Because of its natural scene, Emperor Kangxi called it“ a famous mountain under heaven”. located on a important position in eastern Hebei Province, it stands out among other peaks with green pines and deep valleys. In spring, the blooms are everywhere and you can always smell their aroma; in summer everything turns green and birds contend singing; in autumn the sky is high and the cloud can hardly be seen and the leaves begin to turn red; in winter the mountain may turn white after a heavy snow.

The top eight views are Peak Lotus Platform, the shadow of dragon in the valley, morning bell in Yun Temple, watching sunrise at dawn, golden flowers all over the mountain, the blue water in Luan River, mountains beyond mountains and the deep cave with dipping water. The mountain is worthy of its name since it has profound history and beautiful scene that give tourists wonderful exploring experience.

There are also many splendid buildings left with the thousand-year history. Since Tang Dynasty, Taoism temple have been built. According to historical materials, in Ming Dynasty, Ma Yong and Qi Jiguang organized people to establish temples here and the Emperor Chongzhen sent people to renovate them for several times. In the early period of Qing Dynasty, Emperor Shunzhi and Kangxi used to allocate money from the national treasury to establish new buildings here, that’s how the three complete building complex on top, mountainside and foot of the mountain were formed.

Except for the magnificent imperial architecture, there are also local temples. The Taoism buildings include, Bixia Palace, God of Fortune Temple, Zhenwu Temple, Jade Emperor Palace; the Buddhism buildings are Yufo Temple, Yuantong Temple, the thousand-hand and thousand-eye Bodhisattva Temple and Confucius buildings like Sanzhong Hall. Some cultural views have also been built to showcase the uniqueness of the mountain like the Baoding Culture Park, the First Golden Temple with Empress Jin and Wanfu Road that won the Guinness World Record. The different types of buildings all lean against the mountains and demonstrate the ingenuity of architects.
