Bian Que Temple


Bian Que Temple, an AAAA level tourism attraction, is located at the foot of Queshan Mountain in Shentou Village, 26 kilometers west of Neiqiu County, Xingtai City.

The ancient architecture complex is used to pay respect to the ancestor of Chinese physician, Bian Que. The 27 buildings used to be arranged in the order of the heaven, the earth and human and the existing buildings are Resurrection Bridge, the Mountain Gate, Bian Que Temple, Houtu Temple, the Jade Emperor Temple, Sanqing Temple, the Elderly Lord Temple, the Temple for the God of Temple,  A Hundred Children Temple, Sanxiao Temple and the Medicine King Temple which cover an area of 150,000 square kilometers. This is the earliest and best preserved Bian Que Temple in China the eight top views boast rich cultural and historic connotation.

There are old trees that reach into the sky, ancient buildings and carved stones stand in large numbers. The Touling Carved Stone is the best preserved one and the inscriptions were compiled by an important official named Wang E and written by a major politician Liu Bingzhong, which are valuable physical materials to study traditional Chinese medicine and its development history.

Two temple fairs will be held in Bian Que Temple, which fall on the first day of the third month and the tenth month of lunar calender respectively. The first one will last for 15 days from the fifteenth day of the second month to the first day of the third month of lunar calender.

Bian Que, whose real name was Qin Yueren, but his medical skills were so amazing that the people gave him the same name as the legendary doctor Bian Que, from the time of the Yellow Emperor. Over the past 2000 years, he has always been revered by people and many temples and carved stones were set up in honor of him, and the Bian Que Temple in Neiqiu is among the most famous ones.
