Xijiashan Residence


Xijiashan Residence is located in Xijiashan Town, Jiang'an County, Yibin City. With a building area of 10056 square meters, it was built in 1612, the 40th year of Ming Dyasty (1368-1644) 's Wanli Emperor Period and completed in the Qing Dynasty(1645-1911). 

The layout of the whole building is rigorous, the main and the order are distinct, the opening and closing is orderly and magnificent. The ancient dwellings have deep walls, flying rafts, ancient trees and beautiful scenery. They are ancient houses in southern Sichuan that are well preserved and rare in China. A large number of Phoebe chinensis is distributed around the dwellings, and there are tens of thousands of national second-class protected animals, the heron ostrich, forming a rare “natural heron bird park” in China.

There are more than 100 houses in the entire residence, centered on the main hall, and belong to 18 courtyards of various sizes. The layout of the Xijiashan dwellings is exquisite, the doors and windows are beautifully carved, and the ancient houses are surrounded by ancient trees. The local community has now set up a folk museum in the halls of the residences, recreating the series of folklore in the history of the Southern Sichuan region.
