Baishi Park


Baishi Park is located in the heartland of the western region of the Xiangjiang River, Xiangtan City, Hunan Province.Baishi Park officially started construction in 2001.
With Qi Baishi Memorial Hall in the east, Nanling Road in the west, Gaobiao Road in the north and the old city proper of Zhongshan Street in the south, Baishi Park has a length of about 900 meters and a width of about 350 meters. The planning area of the park is about 393 mu (about 26.2 hectares), of which 100 mu (about 6.7 hectares) is lake’s area, 137 mu (about 9.1 hectares) developed area and 156 mu (about 10.4 hectares) has been reserved for public buildings and green belts.
Because Xiangtan is the hometown of Qi Baishi (an influential Chinese painter), Qi Baishi Memorial Hall and Baishi Park here celebrate the memories of the prominent artist. The most important thing is to eulogize his outstanding achievements and contributions to art and culture in China, and even in the world, and to carry forward his immortal artistic and cultural spirit.
