Tourism in Inner Mongolia


Inner Mongolia, located in the northern part of China, is a narrow-long province bordered with Mongolia and Russia in its northern direction, so the development of Inner Mongolia tourism has superior geographical advantages. Grasslands in Inner Mongolia, such as Hulunbuir Prairie ,Horqin PrairieXilamuren GrasslandGegentala Grassland,etc, are the pillar of its tourism resources; Inner Mongolia has roughly 86.67 million hectares of natural pasture, accounting for 21.7% of the national grassland area, and being the first of the five national prairie. It has more than 3000 hectares desert, occupying the national second.

Besides hills, plains, deserts, rivers and lakes, Inner Mongolia has plateau landforms, mostly over 1,000 meters (about 13,780 feet) above sea level, including the Inner Mongolia Plateau, the second largest among the four major plateaus in the country. However, with colorful ethnic group culture and beautiful natural scenery, Inner Mongolia is a wonderful place for tourists to visit.
