Lotus Pond

Lotus Pond Scenic Area, also known as Lianchitan Scenic Area, is the largest lake in Zuoying District, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan Province. In the hot summer, lotus flowers bloom and smell for several miles. It is named "Lotus Pond".

"The caravan that departed during the unitary time/moved the spring and autumn twin towers into the dusk/...Hushan turned eastward at its feet, actually affecting the black mountain peaks like gears", the poet Zheng Chouyu's work "Zuoying" describes the beautiful scenery of the lotus pond . Now because of the special shape of Banping Mountain by the lake and the reflection of the Dragon and Tiger Tower in the water, the beautiful scenery of "Lianchitan Sunset" is formed. It is a must-see for photographers.

There are many temples on the west bank of Chitan. There are more than 20 temples within 500 meters. It is also a famous tourist attraction for temples in Kaohsiung. Every October, the annual "Lianchitan Wannian Festival" is held here. While enjoying the natural scenery, you can also experience the traditional culture and religious atmosphere of Zuoying District.
