Ziquejie Terraced Field is located in Shuiche Town, Xinhua County,Loudi City. As one of the top attractions in Loudi, It is approved as a state-level scenic spot in 2005. And in 2006 it was included in the world culture and natural double heritage list. Ziquejie Terrace was awarded as "globally important agricultural heritage" in Rome, Italy on April 20, 2014.
At Ziquejie Terrace you can see layers upon layers of terraces mapped on the hills like green waves rolling among the mountains. Visitors seeing this view will be astonished that this was made by the ancient ancestors of the locals.
As one of the 8 new famous scenic spots in Hunan Province, Ziquejie Terraced Field is located in Shuiche of Xinhua County. 80,000 mu (5,333 hectare)terraced fields, rising one upon another at an elevation of 500 meters to 1,100 meters, are endowed with natural self-irrigation and endless spring water.Here you can appreciate the remains of ancient paddy culture and enjoy the primitive simplicity of slash-and-burn cultivation and wood-block houses.
Ziquejie Terrace Scenic Area is awarded as Globally important agricultural heritage, The world heritage irrigation project , The national natural and cultural heritage , National Scenic Area , The National Water Conservancy Scenic Area , The national AAAA level scenic spots . It is located in the water town of Xinhua County of Hunan Province, belongs to the Xuefeng mountain Feng Jia mountain system, the highest elevation of 1585 meters, a total area of 120 square kilometers. Layers of terraced fields to Ziquejie as the center to the surrounding stretch, at an altitude of 500 meters to 1200 meters, the slope of 30 to 50 degrees, a total of more than 500, an area of 10 acres.

How to get there:
1. Take regular bus or train from Changsha to Loudi City. and then take bus to Shuiche Town via XInhua County.
2. Take bus from Zhangjiajie Central Bus Station to Loudi City, and then take bus to Shuiche Town via XInhua County.
Entrance Fees: CNY 80
Best Time to visit: from April to November is the best time to visit this site. It usually snows in winter. And it is a good place for photography shooting in the early morning.
