Ji’an City, famous for Jianggangshan, is located in the central-west of Jiangxi province, neighboring Fuzhou, Ganzhou, Yichun, Xinyu and Pingxiang cities within the province. In the west, it borders Hunan province. The capital city of Jiangxi, Nanchang is about 219 kilometers.

History of Ji'an
Jian includes a long-standing history, from which generated the “Luling Culture” over the surging course of history. Since Neolithic period, ancient people had been settled here, who surpassed the hamper of arduous environment, and transferred into the administrative power here. All that was proofed by evidence unveiled in Mount Dongan Cultural Site in Ji’an City.
After the Qin (221BC-206BC) unified China, Luling County was established here, and hence its old name Luling. Ji'an was also known as Jizhou since the Sui Dynasty (581-618). In the following hundreds of years, the name of this place was changed between Luling and Jizhou. It was in the year, 1295, of the Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368) that its present name Ji'an was first used.
Ji’an is given various reputations by following generations, including as “Wang County in southern region”, “the City of Righteousness” and “the Golden Luling”, which cultivated the prestigious and eternal Luling Culture.

What to see in Ji'an
Ji'an lies in the middle section of the Luoxiao Mountains on the middle reaches of Ganjiang River. Mountainous and hilly regions occupy more than seventy percent of its territory. Plains and hillocks make up a percentage of twenty-three of the city's land area. Ji'an is a beautiful landscape painting in central Jiangxi. On a land of 25,000 square kilometers, the green mountains and blue waters are suitable, the ancient villages of the academy are scattered, and the masterpieces are brilliantly colorful. It is a tourist resort that perfectly combines nature and humanities. Ji'an has both “landscape paintings” and “pastoral poems”. It is a red cradle that creates the spirit of Jinggangshan, a humane county that fostered the Luling culture, and a green homeland that embodies the charm of South Yangtze River of China.

How to reach Ji'an?
By Air: Jinggangshan Airport situated in Zaoyuan Village, Luoxi Town, Taihe County, Ji’an City, Jiangxi Province, southeast of China. It is about 50 kilometers (about 31 miles) from downtown Ji’an, 80 kilometers (about 50 miles) from Mt. Jinggang, 20 kilometers (about 12.4 miles) from Taihe County, and 12 kilometers (about 7.5 miles) from Taihe Railway Station.  The airport operates flights from Jinggangshan to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Chengdu, Xiamen, Tianjin, Haikou, Nanjing, Nanning…
By Train: Ji'an Railway Station is situated in Qingyuan Lu of Qingyuan District.  Jinggangshan Railway Station is in Taihe County. Ji'an Qingyuan Bus Station is located at 408, Qingyuan Road in Jinggangshan City.
By Highways:  Ji’an Coach Station is located in Jizhou District, Ji’an. Besides there are No.105 and No.319 national highways serving as convenient routes. Line Heyuan-Ganzhou runs through the city which connects the southern and northern region.


When to visit Ji'an?
Ji'an City belongs to the southern end of subtropical climate, which is feathered by humid and mountainous weather with monsoon influence. The weather is characterized by a distinctive 4 seasons, with ample precipitation concentrated at the beginning of summer. The city is potent in the reserve of light since sunshine and heat are frequently visiting the city during the same period of time. Besides, the vertical mountain ranges are also featured by distinctive weather condition, which is available for the survival of diverse vegetation in winter. The annual mean is 17.1-18.6℃(62.78-65.48℉) .
April to October is favorable period to visit Ji'an, especially in April and May. The hillsides in Jinggangshan city are aflame with azaleas at that time.
