Yichun Travel Guide


Yichun is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province. It borders Nanchang City in the east, Fuzhou City in the southeast, Ji'an City and Xinyu City in the south,  Pingxiang City in the southwest. And it is bounded on Yueyang City and Changsha City in Hunan Province. As the "Moon Capital" and "Asian Lithium Capital", Yichun has successively won the titles of China's Excellent Tourism City and China's National Forest City.

History of Yichun
The administrative history of Yichun area originated from the establishment of Yichun County in the Han Dynasty (206BC-220AD). During the Sui Dynasty (581-618) the area was elevated to be a prefecture, called Yuanzhou. At a county-level city, Yichun was founded in 1979 and promoted to a regional city in 2000.


What to see in Yichun?
Yichun is a beautiful area. More than seventy-five percent of the territory here is hilly and mountainous which generally declines from the northwest to the southeast. The 1,794 meters (5,876 feet) high Jiulao Ling in Jing'an County is the zenith of the whole city. Mingyue Mountain is the major attraction in Yichun.  Other Scenic Spots are Sanzhaolun National Forest Park, Zhuojiang Karst Cave, Wucheng Ruins, Wugong Mountain.

When to visit Yichun?
Yichun enjoys a subtropical monsoon climate with four distinct seasons. Its annual average temperature maintains around 16.2-17.7°C (61.2-63.9°F). Massive bursts of precipitation become more common during May and June.
The average temperature in the coldest January and in the hottest July fall respectively around 5 and 28°C (41 and 82.4°F). Climatically, can be visited at any time the visitors like but especially in spring and autumn. 


How to reach Yichun?
By Air:  Yichun Mingyueshan Airport is located in Yuanzhou District, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, southeast of China. It is about 6 kilometers (about 3.5 miles) from downtown Yichun, and 33 kilometers (about 20.5 miles) from the Mingyue Mountain. It has opened domestic flights to/from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Ningbo, Xi’an, Kunming, Qingdao, Chengdu, Xiamen, Tianjin, Haikou, Chongqing, Nanjing, Zhuhai, Sanya…
Yichun also is no more than 200 kilometers (124 miles) from Nanchang Changbei International Airport and Changsha Huanghua International Airport.
By Railway: Also, there is a large railway station operating trains to all over the country. Starting here, visitors can take trains directly to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Fuzhou, Kunming, Changsha, Nanjing, Nanchang, Huangshan and many other big cities in China.
By Bus:  Yichun Central Bus Station stands in Mingyue Bei Lu of Yuanzhou District. The bus station in Ping'an Lu is useful for busses to Mingyue Mountain and Wentang Town.
