Baofeng Mountain

Baofeng Mountain, also known as 宝峰山 (bǎo fēng shān)in Chinese, is the water birthplace of Baofeng Lake. With a height of over 1200 meters above sea level, Baofeng Mountain is standing in the south of Suoxiyu and east of Baizhangxia Gorge

Nowadays, there is only one trail along the slope to reach the peak of Baofeng Mountain after crossing the Baizhang Gorge. There are cliffs on three sides in the peak of the mountain. Here you can see an ancient temple called Baofeng Temple standing on the huge rock.

According to the record, Baofeng Temple was originally built as a Taoist shrine in the Song Dynasty(907-1279), and it was once rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty (1644_1911) . The entire construction of the temple is hanging above the cliff, which was one of the famous Taoist shrines in ancient times.

In front of the temple, there is a large rock that is about 6 square meters.  Standing on it,  people are afraid to look up because it is very dangerous.

Baofeng Mountain is not a popular attraction for tourists because it has not been developed and opened to public. But some local explorers have gone there.
