The Photos taken in early May shows the beautiful landscapes of the Guozigou, or Fruits Valley, in Yining and Huocheng County (the hometown of lavender), Ili Kazakh Autonomous Prefecture, Northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

On the road between Urumqi and Yining, an expressway bridge was built recently and passes into the Guozigou valley Ili. This valley, which extends for 28 kilometers, contains fruit trees in an impressive landscape. With the expressway overlooking the valley, it is possible to cross and appreciate its landscapes below.

GuozIgou4.jpgThe path is still visible in places of which was part of the ancient Silk Road from north of the Heavenly Mountains. It can be seen various fruit trees in the valley but also other trees and herbs grow in freedom. It is even possible to make a few stops to venture a little hilltop and see the flowers of the valley.

Along the way, it is not only the fruit trees that you can see, it is also a beautiful forest with waterfalls that flow tens to below. In winter the valley is covered by a thick blanket of snow, but in the month of May, the green takes over and then illuminates the valley as a patchwork of colors. From the highest point of the valley, it is even possible to see the shores of Lake Sayram not far away. With any luck, you can also glimpse of wolves, foxes and bears in the wild.

Located 40 kilometers northeast of Huocheng County, the Fruit Valley is well-known for its beautiful scenery, so it has been regarded as the ‘No.1 Beauty’ in Ili throughout the ages. The Valley, also named Talqi Valley, is an important pass of the present Urumqi–Yining Highway (No.312 National Highway). In ancient times, it was a vital strategic section and communication hub of the Northern Route of the Silk Road. In 1219, Genghis Khan made a west expedition to Ili, but he was blocked by the Tianshan Mountains. He ordered Qagatay, his second son, to knock through the Fruit Valley, the natural door of Ili. In the valley, 28 kilometers long, wild fruits, apricots, exotic flowers and rare herbs can be found everywhere. The valley takes on a different appearance with the passing of the seasons. In spring, brilliant aromatic flowers bloom and butterflies dance among the flowers. In summer, green pine and spruce forests cover it like a green ocean. In autumn, red leaves and mellow fruits spread through the valley. In winter, the valley covered with pure white snow is enchanting
